The UC Bike Kitchen

Updated: Mar 11, 2021

The Bike Kitchen is part of the Office of Sustainability. The goal if the Bike Kitchen is to encourage cycling on campus by providing free bike maintenance for students, staff and faculty. The bike rental program was added in 2017 to help those wishing to ride but do not have their own bike.

The Bike Kitchen was originally in the old kitchen of the Alumni Center, hence the name. When the new Lindner Hall was designed, it was in the location of the Alumni Center. In the summer of 2017, the Bike Kitchen moved to a temporary location on Vine Street while the Alumni Center was torn down. Starting in the fall semester of 2017, the Bike Kitchen began operation out the current location, 101 E Daniels Street, next to Dabney Hall and the sand volleyball court. This was the first time that the Bike Kitchen was in a space designed to be a bike shop.

Stop in when the Bike Kitchen is open to rent a bike for free for up to a week, work on your bike, or just say hi!
